McCool Monroe
Alda Edith McCool Monroe, 80, of 811 Spring St., Jamestown, died at 2:06 p.m. Thursday (September 29, 2011), in WCA Hospi-tal.
She was born April 5, 1931, in Brookville, Pa., the daughter of the late William and Pearl Johns McCool Sr.
Alda was a graduate of Jamestown High School and for 22 years was em-ployed at Jamestown City Hall in the clerk's office and as a policewoman. She was both a wonderful cook and person.
Surviving are her hus-band of 29 years, Lowell H. Monroe; a son, William McCool Monroe; three grandchildren; seven great- grandchildren; and a broth-er, William McCool of Florida.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, John McCool.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Donald E. Ray will officiate.
Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will not be ob-served.
