Compromise — Not Always Good

September 27, 2011
The Post-Journal

To the Readers' Forum:

Years ago, when a young lady was seduced,t he gossipers would whisper, ''She was compromised.''

Lately, the tea party has been taking a lot of grief, seemingly because ''they won't compromise.'' Why should they? Compromising with current American liberal politicians just means more spending (of money we don't have) and the encroachment of more big government taking away our freedoms.

Our founding fathers insisted upon a strong central government, mainly for one reason: to protect the citizens. If they (the fathers) are watching us from the great beyond today, the must be appalled at the nanny state we've become along with all its entitlements.

Regarding the August debt deal: We were compromised!
