MANSFIELD - Two men were taken into custody after the seizure of hundreds of marijuana plants Sept. 14.
The New York State Police released information Monday regarding the operation.
Members the Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force and the Buffalo Office of the Drug Enforcement Agency Task Force seized 211 mature marijuana plants in Mansfield in Cattaraugus County.

Dean M. Maynard, 51, and Brandon L. Maynard, 26, both of 6961 Maples Road, Mansfield, were charged in Buffalo Federal Court with conspiracy to possess and distribute marijuana.
According to police, to date the Olean Office of the Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force has seized 1,577 marijuana plants from Cattaraugus and Allegany counties with an estimated street value of over a quarter of a million dollars.
The Task Force has been assisted in these operations by local, county, state and federal police agencies and U.S. Border Patrol, New York State Police and Civil Air Patrol Aviation units. The majority of information regarding the illegal growing of marijuana has been developed by local citizens and police, said police.
Anyone with any information regarding the illegal growing of marijuana or any other illegal drug activity is urged to call their local police or the STRDTF at 373-2773. All information is kept confidential.
