Simpson Leads Way In MG 49-0 Victory Over Nichols

Oliver Simpson exploded for 104 yards on just four carries and Maple Grove (3-0) scored 22 first-quarter points on its way to defeating Nichols (1-2), 49-0, in a non-league football game on Friday night.

After a John Nickerson 10-yard touchdown run and a Jeff Tampe interception that was returned 15 yards for another score, Simpson further cushioned the advantage in the first quarter with a 43-yard run to the end zone.

Quarterback Alex Grace finished with 67 yards on 4 of 6 passing with one touchdown throw to Skyler Liddell for 45 yards.

In addition to his pick 6, Tampe added one more interception and Nickerson led the Red Dragons with 13 tackles.
