Susan Smith and Gary Carlson of Jamestown, N.Y., announce the engagement of their daughter, Melissa Carlson, to Nicholas Palmisano Jr., the son of Nicholas and Maryanne Palmisano of North Syracuse, N.Y. Miss Carlson is also the granddaughter of Donald and Marion Leathers of Jamestown, N.Y.
Miss Carlson is a graduate of the State College at Cortland and the University at Buffalo. She is employed by the North Syracuse School Distrist. Her fiance is a graduate of Paul Smith. He is employed as a chef by The Genesee Grande.
An April 12, 2012, wedding is planned.
