Gerald and Anne Ray celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary Aug. 14, 2011. They are the parents of Melissa (Bruce) Johnson of Algonquin, Ill., and Steven Ray of Dunkirk, N.Y., and the grandparents of Benjamin Johnson.
Ray and the former Anne Covert were married Aug. 14, 1971, at Blessed Trinity Church in Buffalo, N.Y.
Ray retired as a travel registered nurse who worked for several years in Florida. Before her retirement, Mrs. Ray served as principal at Robert H. Jackson Elementary School in Frewsburg, N.Y.
