Jamestown BPU Closed For Holiday
The Jamestown Board of Public Utilities will be closed on Monday, in observance of Independence Day. BPU Solid Waste customers whose garbage usually is picked up on Mondays should place refuse and recyclables by the curb after 6 p.m. on Monday, for Tuesday morning collection. The recyclable for the week of July 5 will be paper. Trouble calls for any department, all hours, may be reported to 661-1640. Customer Service will be closed on Monday. Bill payments may be made at drop boxes located at the top of the D driveway at the BPU, on Tracy Plaza, in the Jamestown Police Department vestibule on Second Street and at the Town of Ellicott Building. BPU Customer Service reopens for business at 7 a.m. Tuesday.
Sherman School Board Sets Meeting
SHERMAN - Sherman Central School will hold its annual organizational meeting at 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, July 13, with a regular session meeting scheduled to immediately follow. The meeting location is in the board room 118 at Sherman Central School, Sherman. The public is welcome to attend.
Sinclairville Yard Sales Scheduled
SINCLAIRVILLE - The village of Sinclairville is having its village-wide yard sale July 16, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. "Tables for Rent" are available at the Sinclairville Free Library, Main Street, Sinclairville, at a cost of $10 per table and will be located in the parking lot. Bemus Point Library Book Sale Slated
BEMUS POINT -The Bemus Point Library book and bake sale will be July 8-9. The book sale is from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day with a $5 bag sale on Saturday. The bake sale, featuring pies, brownies and cookies, will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday.
Balance Seminar Set For July 13
Chautauqua Physical and Occupational Therapy will host a free seminar titled "Finding Your Balance To Prevent A Fall" from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 13, in the Riverwalk Center, 15 S. Main St., Suite 220, Jamestown. Jacob McBride and Eugenie Poignard will lead the seminar. Seating is limited. Light refreshments will be served. To register, call 488-2322.
Class Of 2001 Reunion Slated
The Jamestown High School Class of 2001 will hold its 10-year reunion from 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday, July 23, in the Crystal Ballroom, located in the Hotel Jamestown. Tickets are $20 a person and include dinner and dessert. There will be a cash bar. Reservations are required by July 1. There will be no admittance at the door. Speedway To Host Fireworks Tonight
NORTH EAST, Pa. - Lake Erie Speedway will host a fireworks display by Homestead Oak Inc., tonight after the races. The grandstand opens at 5 p.m., heat racing begins at 6 p.m., feature racing begins at 7 p.m.
