STOCKTON - Area fire crews battled a structure fire at 6707 Route 60 in Stockton on Tuesday morning.
According to Dale Kinney, first assistant fire chief of the Stockton Fire Department, the call came in at 10:17 a.m.
When crews from the Stockton Fire Department arrived on scene, they found the house engulfed in flames, he said.
"When I showed up on scene, the house was fully engulfed," he said. "The roof and everything was involved and down. There was nothing left of it."
Crews from the area responded to the mutual aid call, including the Cassadaga, Sinclairville, Gerry, Ellery and Stockton fire departments, Rescue 7 and the Fire Investigation Unit. The fire was extinguished in less than 30 minutes, said Kinney.
"I would say that we had it extinguished in less than half an hour," he said.
The extent of the damage was extreme.
"The whole home was gone," he said. "Everything was a total loss."
No injuries were reported during the situation, and the house was unoccupied at the time of the fire, said Kinney.
"Everybody was all right during the situation," he said. "Everything went well up there. All the fire companies got everything done and controlled."
The county's Fire Investigation Unit is still investigating the cause of the fire.
