ORCHARD PARK - Senior quarterback Shane Smith connected with wide receiver Tyler Buckley on a 10-yard touchdown pass with 25 seconds remaining to lift the Fredonia Hillbillies to a 12-10 victory over Southwestern in the Section 6 Class C championship game at Ralph Wilson Stadium on Friday night.

The victory sends Fredonia (9-1) to the Far West Regional next Saturday at All-High Stadium in Buffalo.

Southwestern, meanwhile, ends its season 9-1 and saw its 38-game win streak snapped.

The Trojans trailed, 6-0, and took the lead for the first time on a 6-yard touchdown pass from Jimmy Rauh to Nick Austin with 11 minutes remaining. They increased the lead on Rauh's 24-yard field goal with 5:49 left. Smith then directed a 13-play, 85-yard drive culminating in the touchdown pass.
