WARREN - A former Warren County man charged with collecting thousands of cell phone numbers of teenage girls from social networking sites in order to send unsolicited text messages and lewd photographs waived his right to a preliminary hearing on Wednesday.
Adam Michael Larson, 26, of Jamestown, was charged in March with felony and misdemeanor counts of unlawful contact with minors, sexual abuse of children, interference of custody of children, corruption of minors, criminal attempt to lure a child into a motor vehicle or structure and harassment.
According to Warren-based state police, Larson admitted using his MySpace and Facebook pages to collect thousands of cell phone numbers of young girls in Pennsylvania and New York. He then sent them unsolicited text messages, including lewd photos.
Eight young females in Sheffield, Warren, Clarendon, Youngsville, Russell and Sugar Grove reported to police that they received unwanted text messages from Larson. Police said that Larson offered his Jamestown apartment to any females willing to run away from their homes, offering to drive to the Warren area to pick them up and meet them in person.
In addition to the females in Warren County, seven Jamestown girls between the ages of 14 and 15 reported to police that they received unsolicited text messages from Larson. As a result, he faces seven misdemeanor counts of second degree aggravated harassment and endangering the welfare of a child.
