City Police Seek Home Invasion Suspects

August 4, 2010
By Robert Rizzuto rrizzuto@post-journal.com

Jamestown police are looking for two men in connection with a violent home invasion that happened over the weekend in the city.

According to Capt. Robert Samuelson, around 4 p.m. Saturday, two men entered a home on Park Street between McKinley and Linden avenues with handguns.

"They knocked on this house specifically, and when a female inside answered the door, they forced their way in and displayed their guns," Samuelson said. "She was terrified and ran toward a window, shattered it and started yelling for help. Then the men ran out of the house and toward McKinley Avenue."

Samuelson said the situation was not a random act of violence as the men were looking for a specific person who wasn't home at the time.

"Our biggest concern here is that this happened at 4 p.m. on a Saturday, a time when there are children playing in the streets and people are outside in the neighborhood," he said. "We are asking the public to help us identify these men so we can get them off the street."

The suspects are described as two younger black men, possibly in their late teens or 20s, who are around 6 feet tall with thin builds. Police are asking anyone who may have seen this happen to come forward with any information, no matter how insignificant it may seem.
