Gail M. Johnston, 71, of 3054 Dutch Hollow Road, Bemus Point, died Wednesday July 28, 2010, in Heritage Green Rehab and Skilled Nursing.
She was born May 23, 1939, in Jamestown, the daughter of the late Virgil and Ruth Dikeman Barden.
Following graduation from high school, she completed a two-year course of study at Bryant and Stratton Business School, Buffalo.
She had been employed as head chef at War Vets Recreation Club and earlier by the former Chautauqua Publick Inn.
She enjoyed working with her hands and was an accomplished hobbyist.
Surviving are her husband, Ronald Johnston, whom she married September 3, 1964; two sons, Duane Johnston of Jamestown and Ryan (Lynn) Johnston of Rochester; and two brothers, Weldon (Kathy) Barden and Ralph Barden, both of Jamestown.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Donald E. Ray will officiate.
Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service Sunday in the funeral home.
