JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT
A 16-year-old Jamestown youth was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief and second-degree harassment Tuesday after he allegedly attacked another person, damaging property in the process. Police allege the youth hit a man in the face around 6 p.m. on Seventh Street as the man was getting on his motorcycle. The man's motorcycle helmet was knocked to the ground and damaged. The youth was found a short time later and taken to the city jail on the charges.
CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE
ELLERY - Douglas D. Steinbrink, 26, of Geneva, Ohio, was charged with driving while intoxicated and cited for speeding following a traffic stop Sunday on Route 430 around 12:30 a.m. He was processed and released with an appearance ticket and will be in Ellery Town Court later.
STOCKTON - Andrew M. Herzog, 22, of Irvine, Pa., was charged with aggravated DWI and cited for failure to maintain lane, failure to keep right and for having an open alcoholic beverage in his car after he allegedly almost struck an oncoming sheriff's patrol car on North Main Street in Stockton on Sunday. Deputies reported that a marked patrol car was traveling down the road when Herzog crossed the center line and almost collided head-on with the officer. An investigation revealed he was intoxicated and he was processed and released with an appearance ticket.
DUNKIRK - Jason M. Matve Jr., 19, of Dunkirk was charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of marijuana Monday after a deputy allegedly saw Matve smoking marijuana in the parking lot of the Chautauqua County Fair around 10:15 p.m. He was taken into custody on the Class B misdemeanor and later released with an appearance ticket returnable in Dunkirk Town Court.
NEW YORK STATE POLICE
POMFRET - James E. Murphy, 40, of Portland was charged with felony DWI, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and cited for unlawful possession of marijuana and for having a prescription pill outside its original container Tuesday, following a traffic stop on State Route 83 around 10:30 p.m. He will be in court later.
CATTARAUGUS INDIAN TERRITORY - Alaina R. John, 27, of Gowanda was charged with second-degree criminal contempt and second-degree harassment Tuesday after she allegedly violated a court order by following a person on Monday. She will be in court later.
HANOVER - David A. Wolf, 49, of Amherst was charged with aggravated DWI on Tuesday following a traffic stop on Iola Drive in Hanover around 12:36 a.m. He was released to a third party and will be in court later.
SHERMAN - Richard L. Weber, 63, of Ripley was charged with third-degree menacing, second-degree reckless endangerment, fourth-degree criminal mischief and DWI on Sunday following a domestic dispute reported around 5 p.m. He was held awaiting arraignment.
HANOVER - Jonathan K. Smith, 24, of Lockport was charged with DWI and cited for unlawful possession of marijuana Sunday following a traffic stop on Allegany Road in Hanover around 6:55 p.m. He was processed and released with an appearance ticket and will be in court later.
SHERIDAN - Joshua A. Cave, 28, of Irving was charged with second-degree criminal contempt and second-degree harassment Monday following an alleged domestic dispute around 6:18 p.m. Sunday. He allegedly disobeyed a court order and was taken into custody and held awaiting arraignment.
HANOVER - Daniel Marinaro, 25, of West Seneca was charged with DWI on Sunday after a traffic stop on Routes 5 and 20 in Hanover around 11:20 p.m. He will be in court later.
PENNSYLVANIA STATE POLICE
WARREN - Warren city police reported a criminal complaint was filed on July 20 charging Marcus R. Schultz, 21, of Warren with corruption of minors and furnishing alcohol to minors after he allegedly purchased and provided alcohol to a 16-year-old youth on July 4 at 14 Lincoln Ave. According to police, a juvenile allegation was filed charging the juvenile with false reports to law enforcement and underage drinking. Police reported the juvenile provided false information on who had purchased the alcohol for her.
WARREN - Warren city police reported Herbert L. Proctor, 30, and Christopher R. Shaffer, 25, both of Warren, were charged with simple assault and criminal mischief by criminal complaint July 20 after they allegedly fought at a local tavern around 1:55 a.m. on June 26, breaking a glass cooler door in the process.
WARREN - Warren city police reported Julian R. Falber, 28, of 107 Fourth Ave. Apt. B, Warren, was charged with sexual abuse of children, interception disclosure or use of wire electronic and oral communications, corruption of minors and invasion of privacy after an investigation which began on April 5 in reference to one of his clients. Police reported a search warrant was obtained April 6 and Falber's computer and external hard drive were seized. Police reported the computer was processed by the state police lab and evidence was found that Falber had engaged in sexual intercourse with a 17-year-old female and recorded the act without her knowledge or permission. Police reported Falber also had videotaped sexual relations with another female without her permission.
WARREN - Warren city police reported a juvenile allegation was filed charging a 16-year-old male with retail theft after he allegedly tried to leave Thorne's BiLo with $231.21 worth of merchandise in his backpack on July 22 at 11:05 p.m.
CONEWANGO- According to Conewango township police, on Tuesday at 4:43 p.m., Stephanie Moyer of Warren, was traveling east on Follet Run Road in her Hyundai Elantra when she saw an ambulance with lights and sirens activated approaching in the west lane. Police said Moyer began to slow her vehicle down and pull to the right of the road when she was rear-ended by a Jeep Wrangler driven by Scott Hartenstine of Russell. Police said no one was injured and that Hartenstine's vehicle was towed from the scene and Moyer was able to drive hers from the scene.
SPRING CREEK - Warren-based state police reported someone took 20 to 25 military markers from Spring Creek Cemetery on Cemetery Road, sometime between July 9 and July 25. According to police, the markers are bronze stars, denoting service in the Civil War, and are intended to hold a small flag. The markers are described as being approximately 8 inches across on top of an 18 inch rod to stake to the ground. Police reported on the star is inscribed "G.A.R." (Grand Army of the Republic) with dates 1861-1865. Anyone with information is asked to call the Pennsylvania State Police at 814-728-3600 or Warren County Crime Stoppers at 800-83-CRIME.
CLARENDON - Warren-based state police reported that someone stole a black Acer laptop computer and a purse from a home in Clarendon. Police said the owner had $140 in cash, her driver's license, and numerous other items inside her purse, which is described as brown in color with chain link designs on it. Police said the laptop is described as black in color and was inside a black case.
