Joseph J. Guarnieri, formerly of Jamestown, passed away July 7, 2010.
His wife, Patricia VanDeWark, preceded him in death.
Mr. Guarnieri graduated from Jamestown High School Class of 1948 and soon after enlisted in the Army Air Force. His rank was Staff Sgt. Reg A.F. HQ Japan Air Defense Force. He received the Japanese Occupational Medal, Korea Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and the United States Service Medal. He was honorably discharged from McChord Air Force Base, Washington.
Mr. Guarnieri resided in San Diego, Calif. and was employed in the Nuclear Engineering Department at General Dynamics and General Atomic and retired in 1984.
Later he moved to Nolensville, Tenn., and lived with his daughter Renee.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Guarnieri; sisters: Palma Barone, Beatrice Comerate and Mary Dale; and brothers: John and Philip Guarnieri.
He is survived by his three daughters: Alana Guarnieri, Jeanine Murray and Renee Meloche; three grandchildren; and sisters: Joanne Doyle and Juliet DeHosson.
Funeral arrangements were by Woodlawn, Roesck, Paton Funeral Home and Memorial Park of Nashville, Tenn.
