FREWSBURG - Nelson F. Hagberg, 93, of Emery Hill Road, died Monday, July 26, 2010, at Absolute Care of Salamanca.
He was born Dec. 5, 1916, in Mars, Pa., the son of Gust and Marie Swanson Hagberg.
Before retiring, he had been employed at the former Moore's Hardware and prior to that had owned and operated a dairy farm. In early years, he was a member of the Zion Covenant Church and attended the Ivory Baptist Church.
Nelson is survived by four children: Richard (Janet) Hagberg of Jamestown, Dr. Eric (Jane) Hagberg of Brookfield, Ohio, Margaret "Peggy" (George) Anderson of Frewsburg, and Mary Lou (Bill) Bratt of New London, Wis.; 13 grandchildren: Tom Hagberg, Hannah (Brian) Hayes, Laverne Anderson, and Douglas Anderson of Frewsburg, Frank Hagberg of Kennedy, Joseph Hagberg of W.Virginia, Levi (Michelle) Bratt, Zane Bratt, Joy Bratt and Maria (Marcus) Korth of Wisconsin, Rachael (Don) Larsen and Zita Bratt of Arizona, and Guy (Marim) Bratt stationed in Italy; 13 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Carl Hagberg of Jamestown.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Pauline Hagberg; second wife, Elva Hagberg; three grandchildren: George Anderson lll, Vernon Hagber, and Anna Hagberg Hanson; a brother, Eric Hagberg; and a sister, Analedah Hammett.
The funeral will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Peterson Funeral Home, Frewsburg. The Rev. Don Reese, pastor of the Ivory Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Ivory Cemetery, Frewsburg. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.
