CASSADAGA - Dolores Fessenden, 76, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away peacefully in Naples, Fla., on April 5, 2010, surrounded by her family.
She is survived by her husband, John Fessenden of Cassadaga and four daughters: Deborah (Timothy) Sowar of Franklin, W.Va., Barbara Benson of Carpentersville, Ill., Kathleen (Steven) Webster of Westfield and Lori (Daniel) Farrell of Kiantone; 13 grandchildren: Andrew Judy, Eli Sowar, Kinsey, Kara and Collin Benson, Chelsey and Courtney Marsh, Lindsay Andrews, Andrew Webster, Matthew and Joshua Aman, Stephen and Dan Farrell II; and two great-grandchildren: Cadance Andrews, and Olivia Aman. In addition, she is survived by a sister, Arlene Josephson; and four brothers: Kenneth, Jerry, Larry and Donald Waite.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gerald and Catherine Bulger Waite.
Her most favorite times were those spent with family and friends. Much of Dolores's life was spent lovingly raising her children and taking care of her grandchildren. Later she became a self-employed hairdresser and a home care aide of which she greatly enjoyed. She was a member of the Cassadaga Legion Auxiliary Unit 1280 and the Bemus Point United Methodist Church. Dolores treasured her times with friends and as a "Red-Hatter" in Florida and playing cards in Cassadaga. She touched and enriched so many lives and will be remembered most for her unconditional love, caring personality and ongoing acts of kindness.
A memorial service celebrating Dolores's life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on July 31, 2010, at the Bemus Point Methodist Church, 495 Bemus-Ellery Road, Bemus Point, N.Y.
