An early score in the first quarter was all the Jamestown Chiefs needed to even their Northeastern Football Alliance record at 1-1 Saturday night at Strider Field.
Sean Avery crossed the goal line from 5yards away and Tony Hammer booted the extra point for the lone points and after that the defense excelled in a 7-0 victory over the Southern Tier Diesal from Olean.
The Chiefs, who lost their home opener to the Buffalo Gladiators, 32-8, play at the Gladiators at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
