Grace Nocero Acquisto, 97, of the Heritage Green Rehab & Skilled nursing, formerly of Stow, died at 6:15 p.m. Sunday (May 16, 2010), in the nursing facility.
She was born in James-town on June 17, 1912, the daughter of John and Pearl Glace Nocero.
She was the owner, along with her husband of the Lakewood Beauty Shop on Chautauqua Avenue. She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and a former member of the Altar & Rosary Society, a former member of the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary and the Stow Senior Citizens. She was also a member of the Red Hatters at Heritage Green.
Grace is survived by a son, Louis "Mickey" (Vicki) Acquisto, Stow, N.Y.; and daughters: Rosella (Donald) Peterson, Jenison, Mich., and Marilyn (Fred) Urzetta, Rochester, N.Y.; two granddaughters: Michelle Dalessandro, Byron Center, Mich., and Tracey Johnston, Rochester, N.Y.; four grandsons: Steven and Scott Peterson, Rockford, Mich., Samuel Urzetta, New York City, and Jeffrey Urzetta, Rochester, N.Y.; four step grandchildren: Corrie Anderson, Ashville, N.Y., Autumn Boardman, Stow, Bryon Barker, Daytona Beach, Fla., and Scott Barker, Hamilton Mich., five great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; and a brother, Donald (Joan) Nocero, Richmond, Va..
She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis M. Acquisto, whom she married on June 17, 1935, in St. James Catholic Church, and who died on Aug. 17, 1989; three brothers: Anthony, John and Eugene Nocero; and two sisters: Frances and Clara Nocero.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The Rev. Msgr. Joseph Dowdell, pastor, will be the celebrant.
Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.
Friends will be received today from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Hubert Funeral Home And Cremation Services where a Christian Wake Service will be held at 6:30 p.m.
