Walter "Len" Larson of Talbott, Tenn., passed away at UT Medical Center on April 1, 2010, at the age of 88. Formerly of Jamestown, N.Y.
Mr. Larson was a graduate of Jamestown High School and Buffalo State University. He had served 30 years as a professional firefighter for the City of Jamestown, N.Y. Mr. Larson was an avid antique car enthusiast, a lifetime member of the Chautauqua Lake Region Antique Automobile Club of America, the National Antique Automobile Club of America, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars having served in the U.S. Army Air Corps in World War II.
Mr. Larson was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Katie Larson; one sister, Augusta Rose; and one brother, Donald Larson.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Carmel Fink Larson; son, Timothy Larson; sisters: Mildred Bentley and Dorothy Murphy; five grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and one great-grandchild. He is also survived by his adopted family, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lambert and family of Concord, N.C.
Military graveside services will be 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 10, 2010, at Hamblen Memory Gardens with Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5266 officiating.
