The Town of Poland Recreation Committee held a cross-country ski day at the Paul B.D. Temple School.
Free to all, skis, poles and boots were provided by Hollyloft for those who didn't have their own. Adults broke several trails at the school, and both experienced skiers and novices alike had a grand afternoon. Hot chocolate, orange drink, pizza and homemade cookies waited inside for hungry skiers.
Many games were also provided for those who wanted to warm up before going for another spin on the skis. It looked like a few new skiers may have been added to the ranks, judging from the smiles on the young faces. Even when the inevitable tumbles occurred, the faces were still shining brightly.

Organizers for the event felt it went very well, especially with short notice. They hope to make it an annual outing for the community.
