A 57-year old Jamestown woman was charged with multiple drug violations Wednesday after members of the Jamestown Police Department and the Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at 47 W. 10th St. in the city.
According to the Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office, Phyllis J. Kinsey was arrested after police entered her home at 7:03 p.m. Wednesday evening. Their warrant was for third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance.
Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force officers allege they have made numerous purchases of crack cocaine from Kinsey at the residence. Kinsey was taken into custody without incident and subsequently transported to the city jail. She will be arraigned today.
A search of the residence resulted in officers finding a large quantity of crack cocaine, a quantity of Darvocet, $2,462 in U.S. currency and scales used to weigh narcotics.
In addition to the sale charge, Kinsey was also charged with second-degree criminal use of drug paraphernalia, third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
The Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force's investigation has been going on for a period of months and additional arrests are expected as a result of the investigation.
While executing their search warrant for Kinsey, officers found Shaun Hastings, 40, of Buffalo, at the residence. A records check of Hastings revealed a felony warrant from the city of Buffalo court. He was subsequently turned over to Buffalo police.
