The Post-Journal

COLDSPRING - Blustery weather and slippery roads Sunday gave the Randolph area its quota of icy mishaps for the entire winter. Around 1 p.m. a two-car collision at the intersection of Woodmancy Road and state Route 394 in the town of Coldspring closed Route 394 for more than an hour. The collision sent two injured people in Coldspring and Randolph ambulances to WCA Hospital. According to the Cattaraugus County Sheriff's deputy on the scene the car driven by Keith Meredith, heading south, lost control and collided with a northbound pickup truck with Melvin T. Booth and his wife Michelle inside. Randolph Fire Department stood nearby for emergency fire protection.

Later in the day a pickup truck slid off the roadway near Randolph's Sample Road taking down seven guard posts and landing in a wooded area. At about the same hour a two-car collision occurred on Main Street in front of St. Patrick's Church in Randolph. There were no personal injuries in these accident.
