Alice B. Trout, 83, long-time resident of White Plains, and most recently a resident at Kendal on Hudson in Sleepy Hollow, passed away on Dec. 26, 2009, surrounded by her loving family.
Alice was predeceased by her husband of 44 years, Kenneth W. Trout; her parents; and brother, Donald.
She is survived by her four sons: Charles and his wife, Annette Kramer of Altamont, N.Y., Peter and his wife, Darlene of Peru, N.Y., Daniel and his wife, Cristy of Somerset, Mass., and Douglas and his wife, Laurie, residing in Cincinnati, Ohio; grandchildren: Melissa, Bryan (Amy), JT, Patrick, Elizabeth, Austin, Mitchell, Timmy and Emma; great-granddaughter, Reagan; a brother -in-law, Paul M. Trout and his wife, Ann of Christiansburg, Va., and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Alice was born in Jamestown N.Y., to Francis and Margaret Buskist. She graduated from Lakewood High School, Flora Stone Mather College, Case Western Reserve University and worked in Westchester County as an assistant home demonstration agent for several years before taking on her lifetime role of homemaker. Alice was a longtime member of the Memorial United Methodist Church in White Plains, where she served on the altar guild, the outreach and banking committees, taught church school and was a member of the bell choir. She was an avid gardener, a superb cook and baker and was the matriarch of Ralph Avenue field for many years. She was happiest when spending time with her family on the Jersey Shore and Chautauqua Lake.
A memorial service will be held at Kendal on Hudson in Sleepy Hollow, N.Y., on Saturday, April 24, 2010.
