Two Men Charged In City Robbery

Jamestown police have charged two local men in connection with a home invasion that happened at a Franklin Street home on Nov. 6.

Jonathan M. Myers, 18, and Brian D. Green, 34, both of Lakewood, were charged with first-degree robbery and first-degree burglary and are in custody as of press time.

On Nov. 6, a 911 call came in at 11:48 a.m. reporting that three men wearing ski masks and armed with guns entered the home at 14 Franklin St.

Although a young woman and her child were inside the house at the time, no one was injured, police reported.

Jamestown High School was put on lockdown that morning after the initial report, but the order was lifted less than an hour later when police determined the suspects were no longer in the area.

After a month of following up leads and conducting several interviews, police were able to develop a case against the suspects and through cooperation with a number of other law enforcement agencies, the charges were leveled.

Myers is currently in the Chautauqua County Jail on an unrelated charge but Green was a little more difficult to catch up with.

According to JPD Capt. Robert Samuelson, through information developed in cooperation with the Lakewood-Busti Police Department, the U.S. Marshals were contacted as they learned Green was staying at a home in Sugar Grove, Pa.

U.S. Marshals with the Warren County Sheriff's Department, Warren-based state police and Warren city police, went to the house and Green was taken into custody around 2 p.m. Wednesday without incident.

Green was processed into the Warren County Jail and will likely be extradited to Chautauqua County in the coming weeks.

Samuelson said that investigators have a person of interest as the third suspect, but that no charges have been leveled at this time.

Samuelson also said that since the investigation is still ongoing, he couldn't released details about what, if anything, was taken from the home during the incident or how the suspects knew the victim.

However, he did explain that inter-agency cooperation made a difference in the case coming this far.

"Working together like this with the other police agencies demonstrates the idea of coming together for a common cause," he said. "Even state lines don't impact all of us working to get things done."

Myers and Green will both appear in Chautauqua County Court in the future to answer to the felony charges.
