PANAMA - A Jamestown man was taken into custody Tuesday on several charges after a routine traffic stop in Panama.

New York State Police reported that Nathan J. Donisi, 31, of Jamestown was pulled over for having a loud exhaust and a cracked windshield around 4 p.m. on Route 474.

Troopers reported that further investigation led to the discovery of diazepam (Valium) pills, marijuana and a loaded shotgun in his vehicle. They said they learned that Donisi had three prior felony convictions, making possession of the weapon illegal.

He was taken to the State Police barracks on North Main Street in Jamestown and charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance outside of its original container and possession of a loaded firearm in a motor vehicle.

Donisi was arraigned in Harmony Town Court and released on $500 cash bail mandated by the town justice.
