Anne M. Caldwell, 74, of the Lutheran Home and Rehabilitation Center, formerly of the Carlson Towers, died at 2:08 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 29, 2009, in the nursing home.
A Jamestown resident most of her life, she was born Oct. 31, 1935, in Baltimore, Md., the daughter of William C. Bittle and Theresa K. Neubauer Bittle Cooley.
She was the widow of James K. Caldwell Sr., whom she married Nov. 29, 1974, and who died March 21, 2001.
Mrs. Caldwell was a 1955 graduate of Jamestown High School, and was employed as a baker for Firch Baking Co. for many years.
Surviving are a son, Richard R. (Carla) Johnson of Boonton Township, N.J.; two stepsons: James K. (Claudette) Caldwell Jr. of Lockport, N.Y., and Steven H. (Mary Jo) Caldwell of Jamestown; a stepdaughter, Lauri A. Caldwell of James-town; seven grandchildren: Holly (Joseph DiNiloca) Caldwell of Palisades Park, N.J., Lauren, Andrew and Matthew Caldwell, all of Jamestown, Kayci Caldwell of Orchard Park, and Evan and Elise Johnson of Boonton Township, N.J.; two great-granddaughters: Yo-landa and Alyvia DiNicola, both of Palisades Park; two sisters: Margaret C. (Mark) Fiore and Cathleen A. Basile, both of Jamestown; and a brother Norman L. (Paula) Cooley Jr. of Jamestown.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by two granddaughters: Alexis Genco who died Nov. 3, 1992 and Myah Caldwell who died Aug. 9, 2008; and a brother, William M. Bittle, who died in April 1997.
The funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Eric M. Williams, rector at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, will officiate. Burial will be in the Sunset Hill Cemetery.
