ELLINGTON - The search for a cat with a hunting trap stuck on its head is over. The cat was found this morning, Beth Moss, Ellington animal control officer, told The Post-Journal. It has been taken to the Chautauqua County Humane Society.
Ms. Moss said the cat "settled right down once I got it in my arms,'' which indicates it is someone's pet. She added that notices in The Post-Journal the past few days about the cat attracted the attention of people from around the county who telephoned her offering help.
See Thursday's Post-Journal for details.
