SCOTTSVILLE - Willa June Thompson Bishop died Nov. 3, 2009, in her sleep, at home.
Musician, composer, director, teacher, actor and singer, music was her first language. Graduate of State Teacher's College at Fredonia, originator of the AppleUmpkin Festival, past president of the Middlebury Historical Society, recipient of recognition from the Wyoming Council of the Arts and the Village of Wyoming, musical director and elder at the Wyoming First Presbyterian Church and member of the Wyoming Bicentennial Singers for many years.
Predeceased by her husband Bradley A. Bishop. Survived by daughters: Terry (Denis) Branton and Wendy (Jake Kent) Bishop; grandchildren: Taya Branton, Mark Branton and Alexandra Kent; sisters: Vergenia Partington, Janice (Charles) Gugino, Mildred (Don) Saxton, Betsy Brock and Nancy (Jesse) Connor.
Family and friends are invited to a memorial service to be held on Saturday, Nov. 14, at 11 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Wyoming, 5 Academy St., Wyoming, NY 14591.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Wyoming, the Alzheimer's Association, 435 East Henrietta Road, Rochester, NY 14620, or Jewish Senior Life of Rochester, 2021 Winton Road, Rochester, NY, 14618.
