JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

Russell A. Maring, 24, of Sherman was charged with third-degree assault and second-degree obstructing governmental administration Monday, after police were dispatched to 11 Broadhead Ave. for a reported domestic dispute. Officers reported that upon arrival, a female victim reported that Maring punched her in the mouth. He was found in the backyard and allegedly ran when officers approached, although he was taken into custody a short time later. Maring was held at the city jail awaiting arraignment.

LAKEWOOD-BUSTI POLICE DEPARTMENT

BUSTI - A 16-year-old male student from Ashville was charged with third-degree assault on Nov. 3 after he allegedly assaulted another student on a bus bound for the Hewes Educational Center in Ashville. The victim sustained injuries to his eye and face and the charged youth was released with an appearance ticket.

ELLICOTT POLICE DEPARTMENT

FALCONER - A 16-year-old male from Kennedy was charged with third-degree assault and second-degree reckless endangerment Thursday after he allegedly stabbed another student on a school bus in Falconer. The victim sustained minor injuries and didn't require medical treatment, police said. The charged youth was released with an appearance ticket and will be in Ellicott town court later.

FALCONER - Casey W. Luce, 23, of Frewsburg was charged with third-degree assault Sunday after police were called to a Falconer home for a reported domestic dispute. Officers reported that Luce allegedly assaulted a woman during an argument, and he was found and taken into custody. Luce was arraigned in Ellicott Town Court and remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail where he was held in lieu of $1,000 bail.

CELORON - Cheyenne M. Hodges, 17, of Celoron was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument and petit larceny after an investigation into a stolen credit card. Police reported that from Oct. 10 through Nov. 1, Hodges allegedly made purchases totaling $610 with a credit card number she wrote down from the owner's card. Hodges was taken into custody, arraigned and sent to the county jail.

WEST ELLICOTT - Jacob S. Carr, 19, of Kennedy was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and petit larceny Saturday after police were called to K-Mart on fairmount Avenue for a shoplifting complaint. Carr allegedly stole DVDs and electronic items and was found to be in possession of a controlled substance. He was released with an appearance ticket and will be in court later.

CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT

ASHVILLE - Henry Reyes, 30, of Blockville was charged with endangering the welfare of a child and second-degree harassment Saturday after an incident at a Route 474 home around 7 p.m. the previous evening. Deputies reported that Reyes allegedly pushed a female who was holding her two-year-old child to the ground. Neither the mother or the child were injured and Reyes was released with an appearance ticket.

CATTARAUGUS COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT

YORKSHIRE - Brian M. Smith, 33, of Springville was charged with felony DWI, failure to keep right, driving with an expired license and inspection and for having an open alcoholic beverage in the vehicle following a traffic stop Sunday around 2:19 a.m. He was taken into custody, arraigned and held in lieu of $500 bail.

SALAMANCA - Thomas "Spencer" George, 25, of Salamanca was taken into custody on a warrant for allegedly violating the terms of his probation Saturday. Deputies along with Salamanca police and Cattaraugus County Probation officers arrived at George's house around 12:30 a.m. and found him hiding in the basement. He was on probation for a felony DWI conviction and he was taken to the county jail where he was held without bail.

PENNSYLVANIA LAW ENFORCEMENT

CONEWANGO - According to Conewango Township police, Bill Evans, of 3640 Jackson Run Road, reported that between Oct. 31 and Nov. 7, someone took a tree stand and tripod chair, valued at $75, from the wooded area across from his residence. Anyone with information is asked to contact the township police at 814-726-0725.

Conewango Township police reported that Robert Whyte, 25, of Warren became upset following a court hearing at 1:17 p.m. Thursday and allegedly assaulted Warren State Hospital staff in the parking lot of District Justice Laura Bauer's office, breaking two windows of the transport van, brandishing a piece of glass toward the staff and also striking staff with a closed fist. Police said he was taken into custody and charged with two felony counts of aggravated assault, two misdemeanor counts of simple assault and one misdemeanor count of criminal mischief. Whyte was arraigned before Bauer with bail set at $25,000 and was remanded to the Warren State Hospital Forensic Unit, police said.

WARREN - According to Warren-based state police, Essie J. Moore Jr., 54, of Warren grabbed wire frame glasses off the head of Debra McKee of Warren at 5:45 a.m. Saturday at Warren State Hospital and bent the frames, causing $300 damage. Moore will answer to charges before District Justice Laura Bauer at a later date.

DEERFIELD - Warren-based state police reported that Alyssa B. Griffin, 20, of Warren was traveling north on Davey Hill Road at Althom Road at 5 p.m. Friday in a 2002 Ford Focus and lost control while attempting to negotiate a left-hand curve. Her vehicle then traveled of the east side of the road and struck an embankment and a traffic sign. Police said that neither Griffin nor a passenger, Joanna C. Jaskolka, 20, of Warren sustained any injuries.

GLADE - Lester Stroup, 61, of Warren reported to Warren-based state police that between 8:30 and 9 p.m. Saturday he was harassed by a man while at the Marine Corps League on Jackson Avenue. An investigation is continuing, police said. Anyone with information is asked to call the Pennsylvania State Police at 814-728-3600 or Warren County Crime Stoppers at 800-83-CRIME.

PITTSFIELD - According to Warren-based state police, Dale J. Follett, 17, of Pittsfield was traveling north on Davey Hill Road at 7:40 a.m. Sunday when the 1988 Ford Mustang he was driving left the road on the right side and traveled 84 feet before striking an embankment and rotating as it overturned. Police said Follett was taken to Corry Memorial Hospital via Youngsville Ambulance Service for treatment of minor injuries.

SPRING CREEK - Warren-based state police reported that William S. Mallette Jr., of 2141 Timber Lane, Harborcreek, was traveling north on Torpedo Road without a helmet at 10:20 p.m. Saturday when for an unknown reason his 2005 Arctic Cat ATV traveled off the right side of the road. The ATV continued for approximately nine feet and entered a ditch, striking an embankment and continued for approximately 27 feet before it rolled over, causing Mallette to be thrown from the ATV. Police, who are continuing to investigate, said that Mallette was taken to the Hamot Medical Center in Erie, by LifeStar helicopter with serious injuries.
