Two Jamestown residents are in the county jail after they allegedly broke into an acquaintance's house and attacked her Wednesday morning.

Police reported that around 3:11 a.m., an officer on patrol was flagged down by a female, the victim, who told him she was attacked in her home by two people.

"Apparently, (the victim) went into the bathroom to get ready for bed and when she came back out into the living room, they were in there waiting for her," said JPD Capt. Robert Samuelson. "They were acquainted with one another and they attacked her and ran out of the house."

The victim's ear was cut and bleeding, possibly with a box cutter, Samuelson explained, and she was taken to WCA Hospital where she was treated and released.

No one else was home at the time and the motive behind the attack in unclear, Samuelson said.

A short time after the victim reported the attack, Saran Keisha Best, 26, of Thayer Street and Tarand Rahem Kindred, 25, of Stowe Street, were found and charged with first-degree burglary and second-degree assault- both felony charges.

They were held at the city jail overnight awaiting arraignment in Jamestown City Court. At arraignment, they were sent to the Chautauqua County Jail without bail.
