Stephen Wallquist

Mr. Stephen Wallquist, 51, of Lakewood, N.Y., died Saturday evening, Oct. 24, 2009, at his home following a short illness.

He was born June 14, 1958, in Salamanca, N.Y., the son of P. Douglas Wallquist and the late Jeanne Barnhart Wallquist. He was married on Sept. 3. 2002 to the former Connie Larson who survives.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Mr. Wallquist was employed as head chef at the Nic-L-Inn in Steamburg, N.Y., for 19 years, retiring in the fall of 2006 to care for his father.

He was a member of the Gold Prospector's Club, and he panned for gold in Alaska and North Carolina.

Surviving besides his wife and father are a daughter, Rachael Larson of Lakewood, N.Y.; a son, Collin Larson of Lakewood, N.Y.

There will be no visitation. A graveside service will be held in Steamburg Cemetery, Steamburg, N.Y., at the convenience of the family. Friends and family may attend a celebration of life on Nov. 3, 2009, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Nic-L-Inn, Steamburg, N.Y.
