Harold R. and Janice L. Bower of Gerry, N.Y. celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a luncheon on Aug. 15, 2009, at the Gerry Rodeo Banquet Hall. The celebration was hosted by their children: Steven Bower of Gerry, N.Y., Kathy Bower Richardson of Southbury, Conn., and Sherry Kaczar of Gerry, N.Y. They also have five grandchildren and one greatgrandchild. Out-of-state guests attended from North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Connecticut, Florida, Ohio and Pennsylvania.
Bower and the former Janice L. Gustafson were married Sept. 19, 1959, in the Salem E.U.B. Church, Warren, Pa. The Rev. Jerry Angevine performed the ceremony.
Bower is the former owner and operator of K and H Auto Body. Mrs. Bower is a former employee of the Cassadaga Valley School District.
