CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF'S
DEWITTVILLE - Sabrina Johnson, 27, of Ellery-Centralia Road, Dewittville, was charged with fifth-degree welfare fraud, second-degree offering a false instrument for filing and misuse of food stamps on Tuesday. According to a police report, she allegedly failed to notify the Social Services Department that she gained employment, receiving $2,564.89 in public assistance benefits to which she was not entitled. She will be in Dunkirk City Court later.
CASSADAGA - Robert J. Austin, 31, of 26 Ulrich Park Drive, Cassadaga, was charged with second-degree reckless endangerment, second-degree unlawful imprisonment and second-degree harassment after an argument at 2:50 a.m. Sunday on Dale Drive, Cassadaga. According to a police report, Austin allegedly got into an argument wiht a woman at the boat launch on Dale Drive and, while the woman was leaning into the driver's side window of Austin's vehicle, choked the woman and then allegedly rolled up his window, trapping the woman. Austin then drove down the road, dragging the woman down the road. Austin then rolled his window down and the woman fell to the pavement. She later refused treatment. Judge Prince issued a warrant from Pomfret Town Court, and Austin was charged later Sunday and taken to the Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of bail.
JAMESTOWN POLICE
Chad S. Wasson, 33, of Jamestown was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief at 4 a.m. Wednesday at 105 Francis St., Jamestown. According to a police report, officers responded to a report of a disorderly male. When they arrived on the scene, officers spoke to a person who said he saw a man throw a glass jug at his vehicle, causing damage. Wasson was allegedly still at the scene and identified. He was held on bail and will be in Jamestown City Court later.
Deborah J. Bonenberger, 41, of Jamestown was charged with third-degree assault at 2:41 a.m. Wednesday at 147 Falconer St., Jamestown. According to a police report, officers responded to a reported domestic incident during which Ms. Bonenberger allegedly injured a man during a fight. She was taken to the Jamestown City Jail awaiting arraignment. She will be in court later. The man did not required emergency treatment for his injuries.
Mark J. Ludes, 48, of Fredonia was charged with failure to maintain lane, being parked on pavement and driving while ability impaired by drugs at 7:39 p.m. Tuesday. According to a police report, Ludes was seen driving north on Main Street in Jamestown, crossing into the parking lane and then stopping short of a traffic light at Main and Second streets. The light changed and Ludes allegedly remained at the green light for an extended period of time. He was pulled over and then charged. He will be in Jamestown City Court later.
Karen E. Centi, 58, of Jamestown was charged with shoplifting at 10:48 p.m. Tuesday at the Kwik Fill gas station at 342 Forest Ave. According to a police report, the store manager allegedly saw Ms. Centi take two 24-ounce cans of beer from the store. Ms. Centi was taken to the Jamestown City Jail awaiting arraignment. She will be in court later.
