After the 46-14 thumping the Jamestown Chiefs of the Northeastern Football alliance delivered at home on Aug. 22 to the Southern Tier Diesel, the Chiefs picked up two wins via forfeits and earned themselves a playoff spot in the upcoming NFA playoffs.
The Chiefs will play Saturday at 7:30 p.m. Their opponent is yet to be announced.
Jamestown finished the season at 4-6 after picking up two forfeit victories to end the season. One was against Cortland and the other against Rome.
Chiefs' running back James Dickey finished the regular season with 900 yards rushing and seven touchdowns on 132 carries. Wide receiver threats Henry Leeper and Brian Hardy each hauled in 12 passes and two touchdowns during the season as well.
Leeper evolved into a threat out of the quarterback spot midway through the season and finished with 194 rushing yards and three touchdowns on the ground to go with 17-of-34 passing for 323 yards and three touchdowns.
The trio of Leeper, Dickey and Hardy along with speedy wideout Gary Kum will need to step up for the Chiefs if they intend to advance out of the first round of the NFA playoffs.
