Doris E. Anderson, 85, of Tanglewood Manor, formerly of 195 Baker St., died at 12:10 a.m. Thursday (Aug. 13, 2009), in the Heritage Park Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility.
She was born Oct. 6, 1923, in Lander, Pa., the daughter of Alfred and Hulda Nelson.
For many years, Doris worked at the former New Process in Warren, Pa. While living in Florida, she worked for the Florida National Bank and Trust Co. in Orlando. Moving back to Jamestown, she worked for the Chautauqua County Office of the Aging at Christ First United Methodist Church, a United Way Agency.
Doris was a member of the Jamestown Seventh-day Adventist Church and she attended Christ First United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her husband of 45 years, Carroll Eugene Anderson; a sister, Ellen ''Betty'' Johnson of Sugar Grove, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters: Viola Vanbockern, and Margaret Feldt.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Lind Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service on Sunday in the funeral home.
