BUSTI - A Youngsville, Pa., man who was charged with driving while intoxicated twice last week has received yet another DWI charge on the same stretch of road as the previous incidents.
Lakewood-Busti Police report that Bruce F. Kay, 56, of Youngsville, Pa., was charged for a third time with DWI Wednesday evening on Busti-Sugar Grove Road within 200 feet of his first two arrests.
According to Sgt. Investigator Paul Gustafson, on June 30 Kay was involved in a hit-and-run accident which he allegedly fled from prior to being pulled over and subsequently charged. He was given an appearance ticket for the first offense and released.
Two days later on July 2, police received an anonymous tip that Kay was intoxicated driving on Busti-Sugar Grove Road once again. Police spotted his vehicle and based on alleged traffic infractions, pulled him over. He was allegedly intoxicated and this time taken into custody.
Later that evening, he was arraigned in Busti Town Court and remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail.
Kay posted bail and was released only for police to have the same interaction with him Wed. July 8. An anonymous call tipped police that he could be found driving the same stretch of road intoxicated, and after a traffic stop, he was taken into custody on an aggravated DWI charge and additionally charged with drinking in the vehicle and failure to keep right.
When arraigned in Busti Town Court later that evening, he was sent to the county jail and bail was raised to $10,000.
When Kay returns to court next week, he will be facing three DWI charges and a slew of traffic infractions and other charges.
