JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT
Jack L. Brougham Jr., 44, of Jamestown was charged with disorderly conduct and public consumption Saturday. Police say Brougham was a passenger in a vehicle that was stopped by Jamestown Stop DWI unit. Brougham allegedly began to yell obscenities at the officers and was then placed into custody and found to be in possession of a glass of beer inside a vehicle. Brougham was taken to city jail and charged.
Gina L. Nuzzo, 41, of Jamestown was charged with driving while intoxicated, first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and failing to keep right Saturday. Police say they stopped a vehicle for failing to keep right and after an investigation it was determined the operator, Ms. Nuzzo, was intoxicated. A check of Ms. Nuzzo's driving record showed a driving while intoxicated conviction in the last 10 years, making the charge a felony. Ms. Nuzzo also had her licensed revoked for an alcohol related incident making it also a felony aggravated unlicensed operation.
CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT
CHERRY CREEK - Shaun G. Laughlin, 27, of Tonawanda was injured in an ATV accident along with an 11-year-old female Saturday. Police say Laughlin was operating a four-wheel ATV when he lost control and struck a guard rail, ejecting the passenger during the accident. Laughlin received a severe laceration to his leg and the female received a possible fractured leg. Cheery Creek fire/rescue transported Laughlin to Lakeshore Hospital and the female to a landing site where she was flown to Children's Hospital in Buffalo by Starflight. Charged are pending.
HANOVER - Shawn M. Kirk, 20, of Washington, Conn., was charged with driving while intoxicated, open container, unlawful possession of marijuana, endangering the welfare of a child, speeding and failure to maintain lane Friday. Police say they stopped a vehicle in Hanover for speeding. The operator, Kirk, was determined to be intoxicated. Further investigation found Kirk to be in possession of marijuana and an open container of alcohol. A passenger in the vehicle was 14 years old so Kirk was also charged for endangering the welfare of a child. He was taken into custody and later released to appear in Hanover Court to answer the charges on a later date.
SALAMANCA POLICE DEPARTMENT
James Nye, 48, of Salamanca was charged with unlawful possession of fireworks after allegedly setting them off in the city and possessing more when officers questioned him Saturday. Nye was issued an appearance ticket to appear in Salamanca City Court at a later date to answer the charge.
Salamanca Police reported the arrest of a 17-year-old Salamanca resident for fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle, reckless driving, operating a motor vehicle without a license, unsafe turn/failing to signal, improper right turn, failing to yield to the right-of-way to an emergency vehicle, driving left of pavement markings and speeding following a pursuit in the city. The 17-year-old was issued uniform traffic tickets and released to appear in city court at a later date to answer the charges.
PENNSYLVANIA STATE POLICE
State police report an accident involving two vehicles on Wednesday, July 1, in Spring Creek Township. Vehicle one, operated by Michael D. Beattie, 24, of Columbus, was traveling on State Route 3010 when he struck the rear of a vehicle, operated by Timothy J. Woodard, 45, of Spring Creek, that was turning into a private driveway. Beattie was not injured in the accident. Woodard was transported to Hamot Hospital in Erie for treatment of injuries.
Devon Moore, 40, of Warren was charged for violating a protection from abuse order Friday after he had contact with the victim multiple times on June 26-27. He was arraigned and placed in county jail on $25,000 bail.
