Frederick and Catherine Obert of Sinclairville celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at Webb's Captain's Table in Mayville.
The celebration was hosted by their children: Lisa (Rodney) Waite of Cassadaga, Natalie (John) Manno of Jamestown, and Thomas (Julie) Obert of Portland, N.Y. They also celebrated with a family event at the Outer Banks, Hatteras, N.C., from April 11 through April 18, 2009. They have nine grandchildren: Zachary, Alex, Nathan, and Mariana Waite of Cassadaga; Justin Yarbrough of Binghamton, N.Y.; Joy Manno of Jamestown; Jake (Lindsay) Killion of Dallas, Texas; and Jess Delcamp of Portland; and two great-grandchildren.
Obert and the former Catherine Abbey were married June 6, 1959, at the Kennedy United Methodist Church. The Rev. Richard McEntarfer officiated.

Obert retired from MRC-SKF in Falconer, where he was employed as an inspector. Mrs. Obert retired from Southwestern Central School, where she was an elementary teacher.
