Heavy rain Saturday afternoon flooded residential basements, parking lots and local roads.
The Chautauqua County Department of Public Facilities issued an advisory urging against traveling on Jones and Gifford Avenue, as it is currently under six inches of water.
Engineers were dispatched to evaluate a bridge on Frew Run Road after the water did some damage to a footer, but made the decision to keep it open.
County crews have made several temporary fixes to washed-out shoulders, flooded lanes and erosion on other roads located primarily in Jamestown, Frewsburg, Kiantone, Ellicott, Lakewood and Busti.
The second-annual Block, Rock & Session skateboarding event which was supposed to take place Saturday was rescheduled for June 27 because of the rain.
The event will be held on East third Street in downtown Jamestown next Saturday from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.
Meteorologists with the National Weather Service out of Buffalo said that scattered storms may occur throughout the rest of the day, but the worst is over.
