JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT
A 16-year-old female was charged with petit larceny Wednesday after she was allegedly caught stealing several items from the Family Dollar store in Brooklyn Square around 6 p.m. She was taken to the city jail and held awaiting arraignment.
CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT
PANAMA- Kenneth Victor Lane, 19, of Panama was taken into custody on a warrant charging him with felony criminal mischief Wednesday after an investigation into an incident which happened on May 24 around Panama Central School. Deputies say Lane used his vehicle to cause about $7,000 worth of damage to the athletic fields, a chain link fence and a a porta-potty. On his way off of the property, he allegedly hit a car parked on Swede Road and damaged lawns of two adjoining properties. He was arraigned in front of Judge Bruce Scolton and released on his own recognizance to return to court later.
ELLERY- Brock Muntz, 18, of Greenhurst was charged with felony criminal mischief Wednesday after he allegedly damaged a man's car at Ellery Town Park after a dispute during a basketball game around 6:30 p.m. He was given an appearance ticket and will be in court later.
KIANTONE- Joshua K. Crist, 28, and Kareem I. Walker, 36, both of Jamestown were charged with petit larceny Wednesday after they allegedly used an employer's credit card to purchase gas for a personal vehicle without permission, They were given appearance tickets and will be in court later.
PORTLAND- Laura L. Haas, 45, of Dunkirk was charged with DWI Wednesday after she was pulled over for crossing the fog line on Route 5 around 10:52 p.m. She was allegedly intoxicated and refused a pre-screen test. She will be in court later.
WESTFIELD POLICE DEPARTMENT
Leslie K. Valentine, 43, of Dunkirk was charged with driving while intoxicated, failure to keep right and failure to maintain lane on June 13, following a citizen complaint and traffic stop around 3:43 a.m. Police say valentine's vehicle was driving on Route 5 when she was pulled over for crossing the center and fog lines. She was allegedly determined to be intoxicated and released with an appearance ticket. She will be in court later.
PENNSYLVANIA STATE POLICE
CONNEWANGO TOWNSHIP- Timothy L. Porter, 47, of Russell, Pa., was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, reckless endangerment, criminal mischief, reckless driving and disorderly conduct last Sunday, after he allegedly assaulted tow people at his home then used a vehicle to ram another vehicle during a dispute. He was taken into custody, arraigned and sent to the Warren County Jail where he was released on $25,000 bail? He will return to court later.
MEAD TOWNSHIP A 19-year-old female who hit a 32-year-old Youngsville, Pa., woman in the head, neck and arm before pulling a clump of hair from her head on May 23will not be prosecuted because the victim has refused to cooperate with police.
CONNEWANGO TOWNSHIP- Richard L. Longo, of Warren, Pa., was charged with harassment for punching a woman twice in the head Monday.
TRIUMPH TOWNSHIP- Police are investigating an incident where someone entered a storage building on Gorman Road sometime between Nov. 28, 2008 and June 10 and stole a 5,000 watt generator valued at $400 and a black, 5.5 horse power Briggs and Stratton.
WARREN CITY POLICE DEPARTMENT
David R. Smithers, 26, of Hydetown, Pa., was charged with providing false identification to law enforcement, theft of services and theft by deception Thursday, after an incident involving a cab. Smithers was picked up by a Warren Taxi in Titusville, Pa. and brought to Warren where he exited the taxi stating he would be right back with the cab fare. He never returned and the cab driver called the police. Smithers was found and he allegedly gave a false identification to officers, but was identified and taken into custody. He was committed to the Warren County Jail on an outstanding criminal warrant and will appear in court later.
