WEST ELLICOTT - The investigation into a vehicle which crashed into the door of Evan's Discount Liquors on Wednesday afternoon is ongoing, although one person has been taken into custody.
Just before 2 p.m., a 911 call reported that a vehicle had crashed into the liquor store, and police and emergency personal were dispatched. Upon arrival, police say an Oldsmobile Delta 88 was sitting sideways across the doorway to the store, but no one was inside or around the scene.
Based on a tip, police went to Davidson's Restaurant and were directed to a man and a woman who were sitting at a table having a soda. It turns out that the duo had left the car parked partially inside the store and fled to the nearby eatery.
Ellicott Police are still investigating an incident that occurred Wednesday afternoon, when this car was driven into Evan’s Discount Liquors after it was traveling north on Southwestern Drive.

Both were detained by Ellicott Police, who were assisted by Lakewood-Busti Police and the Chautauqua County Sheriff's Department, and officers began trying to sort the situation out.
Both people denied driving the crashed car and police began looking for another person who may have been on the scene at the time.
The reported owner of the vehicle, 18-year-old Jennifer Delahoy of Jamestown, was turned over to the Jamestown Police Department for outstanding warrants, and the man detained along with her was released after police took down his information.
The liquor store remained open with access limited to the front entrance. The investigation is ongoing with charges expected in the coming days.
