LAKEWOOD-BUSTI POLICE DEPARTMENT

LAKEWOOD - Four 17-year-olds from Jamestown were charged with petit larceny Thursday after they were allegedly caught steeling from the Finish Line at the Chautauqua Mall around 5:15 p.m. Two were given appearance tickets and the other two were arraigned and released. All four youths will be in court later.

BUSTI - John R. Kennedy, 24, of Jamestown was charged with third-degree assault after an investigation into an altercation at the Wellman Road Trailer Court on May 29. Police say that during a child custody exchange, a physical altercation broke out. Kennedy will be in court later.

JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

Carlie M. Jose, 22, of Jamestown was charged with speeding and driving while intoxicated Friday morning, following a traffic stop on Harrison Street around 1:49 a.m. Police say she was pulled over for speeding and was found to be intoxicated. She was taken to the city jail where she allegedly failed a breath test and was released with an appearance ticket.

Revie C. Luce, 36, of Jamestown was charged with third-degree assault Wednesday after police were called to a Barrett Avenue home for a reported domestic dispute. She allegedly injured another person in the incident and was taken to the city jail.

WESTFIELD POLICE DEPARTMENT

WESTFIELD - An 11-year-old Westfield girl was taken into custody Thursday morning after she was caught shoplifting at the Quality Markets store on East Main Street. Police said store workers llegedly saw the girl put several items into a bag and leave the store without paying. She was taken to the police station and a parent was notified. The child was given an appearance ticket for Family Court on a petit larceny charge and will be in court later.

SALAMANCA POLICE DEPARTMENT

SALAMANCA - Jeremiah L. Calkins, 22, of Salamanca was charged with animal cruelty, disorderly conduct, violation of dog-control procedures and second-degree harassment Thursday, after his dogs were seized for alleged violations. Police say Calkins was not providing proper sustenance to his dogs and he tied a rope to a dog's leg tight enough to injure it. Police also say that when the dog control officer was seizing the dogs, Calkins commanded it to bite the officer. He was taken into custody and held awaiting arraignment.

CATTARAUGUS COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT

SALAMANCA - Chad A. Snyder, 27, of Salamanca was taken into custody on a warrant out of Family court Thursday. Deputies say they were called to provide assistance to Salamanca police after Snyder was involved in a dispute with his brother. Snyder was found in a closet and taken into custody. He is in the Cattaraugus County Jail in lieu of $1,000 bail and will be in court later.

CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT

GERRY - Carol A. Boyce, 51, of Jamestown was charged with issuing a bad check Thursday, after she allegedly wrote a bad check to a Gerry business on May 30. She was given an appearance ticket and will be in Gerry Town Court later.
