FREWSBURG - Jean B. ''Charlie'' Garfield, 78, of 335 Woodchuck Hill Road, died Thursday, May 21, 2009, at WCA Hospital.
She was born Oct. 6, 1930, in Jamestown, the daughter of James and Marion Northrop Boswell.
She was a graduate of Millard Filmore School of Nursing, and had been em-ployed as a surgical nurse for many years at the former Jamestown General Hospi-tal. She loved and enjoyed her grandchildren, great--grandchildren, and her best friend, Java.
She is survived by three children: Sharon (Tom) Allison, Floyd Michael (Betsy) Garfield, and Daniel (Susan) Garfield, all of Frewsburg, nine grandchildren: Mike, Matt, Scott Hultberg, Sadie, Kim Garfield, Kate Ostrander, Emmerson Garfield, Chad Allison and Kate Conti; several great-grandchil-dren; and a sister, Lucille ''Pete'' Decker of Busti.
She was predeceased by her husband, Floyd ''Fud'' Garfield in 1999; and a daughter, June Garfield in 1954.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the Peterson Funeral Home, Frewsburg. The Rev. Jon Swart, pastor of Cable Hol-low Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Frews-burg. The family will re-ceive friends on Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. in the fun-eral home.
