May 8, 2009
By The Post-Journal Staff

Aaron Johnson, 28, of 41 Wescott St., Jamestown, was charged with several traffic violations, driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, speeding and unlawfully fleeing police after leading police on a chase through the city at about 2 a.m. Friday.

According to a police report, officers allegedly saw Johnson pass through a red light at the intersection of Tiffany and Allen streets. He then refused to stop for the marked patrol car, drove through another red light at Allen and Buffalo streets and nearly hit an oncoming vehicle on the 'S' curves on Allen Street, all while driving faster than the 30 mile an hour speed limit. Johnson then allegedly turned off his lights in another attempt to get away. Johnson then hit a parked vehicle, ending the chase, though he still wouldn't get out of his vehicle and had to be physically removed by officers.

Johnson was taken to the Jamestown City Jail awaiting arraignment.
