JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

Edward K. Ortiz, 43, of Jamestown and Osvaldo Vasquez, 47 of Jamestown were charged with first-degree attempted robbery and second-degree menacing Sunday around 5:15 a.m. Police say an adult male came to the Jamestown Police Department to report that Ortiz and Vasquez attempted to rob him. The victim told officers that he was in the common hallway area of his apartment building when he was approached. Ortiz allegedly demanded money while Vasquez waved a knife in a threatening manner toward the victim. Officers were able to locate both in a nearby apartment.

Scott Trusso, 18, of Jamestown, Cameron Johnson, 17, of Jamestown and two 16-year-old Jamestown males were charged with underage possession of alcohol, second-degree obstructing government administration, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and endangering the welfare of a child following an incident Saturday morning. Police say officers observed two subjects standing face-to-face in an aggressive manner across from 47 Hopkins Ave. and investigated the scene. Johnson was carrying a 30-pack of beer, was observed to be intoxicated and was arrested for underage possession of alcohol and disorderly conduct. Officers then approached a parked vehicle where another male was standing. The vehicle was found to have five subjects inside, which included two 14-year-old females, a 15-year-old female, a 16-year-old male and Trusso. One 14-year-old female was intoxicated and the 16-year-old male was also intoxicated. Officers found numerous cans of beer in plain view inside the vehicle. Officers on scene detained the females to bring them to the police station for their parents to pick them up. While escorting a female to a patrol vehicle, one of the females began to struggle with officers refusing to be escorted. While officers were dealing with the unruly female, one of the males did charge at an officer in an aggressive manner attempting to prevent officers form controlling the female. After a brief struggle, the male was also arrested. All four males were arrested and transported to city jail. The three females were brought to the police department and released to their parents. The four males are in city jail pending arraignment.

Kylie L. Pavolko, 21, of Ashville was charged with driving while intoxicated, failing to submit to pre-screen, unsafe start and failing to maintain lane Saturday. Police say offers were dispatched to the West Third Street Kwik Fill for a possible intoxicated driver. As officers arrived, they observed the suspect vehicle accelerating out of the lot kicking up dust and rocks, almost striking the curb. Police stopped the vehicle and subsequent investigation led to the charges.

CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT

PORTLAND - Irvin Ocasio, 28, of Dunkirk was charged with a larceny warrant on Saturday. Police say Ocasio was found to be a passenger in a vehicle that was stopped by Sheriff's deputies and a record check found that he was wanted by Fredonia police for allegedly stealing a PSP portable Play Station. Ocasio was taken into custody and turned over to Fredonia police.

DUNKIRK - William S. Larson, 18, of Dunkirk was charged with moving from lane unsafely and driving while intoxicated Saturday in Dunkirk. Police say deputies observed a red jeep crossing a lane for no apparent reason and stopped the jeep and the operator, Larson, who was found to be intoxicated. Larson will appear in Dunkirk Court at a later date.

HANOVER - Jose J. Ortiz, 44, of Buffalo was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation Saturday. Police say they stopped Oritz for not having a valid inspection sticker. A check found that Ortiz's license was suspended. Ortiz will appearing in Hanover Court at a later date.

HARMONY - Casey A. Saeger, 20, of Panama was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana Saturday. Police say they were checking state lands in Panama for suspicious activity and interviewed Saeger on Warner Road, finding him to be in possession of a small quantity of marijuana. Saeger was issued a ticket and will appearing in court at a later date.

WESTFIELD POLICE DEPARTMENT

Sarah M. Frey, 22, of Panama was charged with driving while intoxicated, failing to stop, unsafe turn and speeding April 13. Police say they were on patrol on Clinton Street in Westfield when they observed Ms. Frey not stopping at a stop sign, making unsafe turns and driving at a high rate of speed. Upon further investigation, Ms. Frey was allegedly found to be intoxicated and will appear in Westfield Court at a later date.

PENNSYLVANIA STATE POLICE

Renae J. Marinelli of Erie was charged with driving while intoxicated after an accident on York Hill in Brokenstraw Township on Thursday. Police say Ms. Marinelli lost control of her vehicle and impacted a side embankment before coming to rest in a ditch.

Police say Michael Hutley, 18, of Russell, John Rogowski, 20, of Jamestown, Seth Anderson, 20, of Falconer, 16-year-old female and a 17-year-old female were all cited for underage drinking in Russell on Saturday.
