Mr. and Mrs. Charles H. Swanson celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a family dinner at the Celoron American Legion Herman Kent Post 777. They are the parents of Charles III (Marie), William A., Richard A. (Ali) and Bradley J. (Nancy). They also have six grandchildren: Marisa Cruzado, Charles IV, Kelly Jo, Nicholas, Adrian and Alexa Swanson.
They were married April 4, 1959, in St. James Roman Catholic Church. The Rev. L. Nicastro performed the ceremony.
Swanson is retired from Jamestown Metal Products, Inc. Mrs. Swanson is retired from Empire State Mutual Insurance Company and the Chautauqua County Department of Social Services.
