Bill and Anita Perry, owners of Chautauqua Heights Family Camping Resort on Thumb Road, Dewittville, recently received the 2008 Marketing Award for Best Simple Brochure: Large Park during the 45th annual Conference and Trade Show of Campground Owners of New York.
The Perrys submitted their brochure, featuring scenes of their campground and Chautauqua Lake, for consideration by an independent panel of judges. All conference members were invited to submit their brochure designs for judging in categories for parks with 100 campsites or less and for parks with more than 100 campsites.
Other marketing award categories recognized during the conference included Web site Design and Mailer Piece Design.
According to Donald G. Bennett Jr., CONY executive administrator, the marketing awards were created to honor members for their self-promotion activities as well as to encourage improvements in marketing efforts among the conference's member.
''CONY has outstanding members working hard to promote camping and RVing in their parks and across New York state, and we wanted to thank them for their efforts. But hopefully, too, the awards will become an incentive to all of our members to continue 'taking it up a notch' to compete for the best website or brochure honor next year,'' Bennett said.
The Perrys accepted a plaque for their campground from Scott Sherwood, conference president, at the annual conference banquet.
