Evelyn Irene Morgan, 98, formerly of 408 Lafayette St., and Auburn, N.Y., died at 6:20 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec.30, 2008, in the Heritage Green Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing.
A Jamestown resident since 1950, she was born Nov. 2, 1910, the daughter of Fenton C. and Mary T. Reynolds Mather.
She was the widow of Alfred Morgan who died in 1965.
She attended schools in Berkshire, N.Y., and was employed in the office of sales and advertising at Art Metal Corp. for 24 years and at Jamestown Unit Parts.
Mrs. Morgan was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church and was active in the Bishop Overs Guild and a volunteer in the church Thrift Shop. She was also a member of Mt. Sinai Chapter132 Order of Eastern Stars, AARP, a volunteer at St. Susan's Kitchen, and a tutor at Literacy Volunteers.
Surviving is a sister, Mildred Finch of Port Byron, N.Y.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia K. Anderson Perdue.
A Committal service will be held at 12 p.m. on Tuesday in the Chapel at St. Luke's Episcopal Church. The Rev. Eric M. Williams, pastor, will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Columbarium at St. Luke's.
No visitation will be observed.
