Oehler, Blocker, Belson, Sobilo Named Girls Volleyball MVPs

The Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association released its girls volleyball all-star rosters and Most Valuable Player Awards recently.

In Division 1, Emma Oehler of Gowanda was named the Most Valuable as was Randolph's Lacy Blocker in Division 2. Ripley's Heather Belson was named MVP in Division 3 East while Forestville's Richelle Sobilo earned the honors in Division 3 West.

The Class C state champion Salamanca Lady Warriors placed four seniors on the Division 2 first-team roster with Katie Auge, Ashley Abrams, Brittany Haines and Hannah Reynolds.

Also on the Division 2 roster was Randolph's Marah Maycock and Cassadaga Valley's Lindsey Gross.

Falconer teammates Jeanette Vanstrom and Ashley Gunnell were named to the Division 1 first-team all-star roster as was Southwestern's senior Bobbi Hopkins.

Samantha Raichlin of Gowanda was also named to the first-team roster.

In Division 3 East, Alicia Valentine of the Forestville and Sara Cunningham of Pine Valley were first-team selections as were North Collins teammates Amber Letina and Valerie Janiga and West Valley's Lindsey Thomas.

Panama teammates Olivia Nagel and Christina Rauh were first-team selections in Division 3 West as were Michelle Persons and Beth Gribble of Sherman.

Maple Grove's Madeline Apperson represented the Lady Red Dragons on the first team as well.

The Section 6 Class D champion Portville Lady Panthers were represented by Brie Starks and Demi Kauppinen on the first team for Division 2.

Olean's Bridget Lamb was selected on the first team for Division 1 as was Caitlin Martin of Allegany-Limestone.
