Aileen Larson, Jamestown Community College Jayhawks soccer player, recently helped Ring Elementary School student Brea Tota create an animal mask during Kim Austin's class. Players from the JCC Jayhawks, their coach Dana Shelters, and Athletic Director Kathy Stedman worked on a Reader's Theater as part of a community service project. Students broke up in four groups read and learned the lines of a play, created masks or puppets and then performed their play in the school's auditorium. ''Some of the girls are interested in education as a career and this is a good way to help their local community and broader their horizons,'' said Shelters. One of the players, Amelia Rough, is a Jamestown School graduate. ''I remember when I was in the Jamestown schools, older students coming into the classroom to help us,'' said Ms. Rough. ''Now, it is nice to see that we are role models and it is really fun to come in and work with the elementary students.'' Other JCC Jayhawks that participated in Reader's Theater were Karri Parker, Katie Indriolo, Katie Lemon, Tayler Woodward, Kristie Gibbs and Katie Sweet.
